DEBIO

Organic aquaculture manages natural resources to minimize environmental harm, focusing on animal welfare and using mostly local, renewable inputs. Regulated by Norwegian organic production laws and certified by Debio, organic aquaculture minimizes impacts on surrounding ecosystems by controlling pathogens, parasites, and medication residues. Practices include seabed fallowing and using cleaner fish to combat salmon lice.

Feed is designed to mimic natural intake with minimal waste, using organic or sustainably sourced ingredients, high marine content, and no artificial additives. Stocking density is limited to 10 kg fish per cubic meter to prevent stress and injury, promoting natural schooling and reducing environmental pollution from fish waste.
